Hi, I’m Rhian

I’m an experienced, BACP-accredited psychotherapist offering integrative therapy in person in Bolton, Greater Manchester, and online across the UK.

I work with adults experiencing anxiety, trauma, burnout, low self-esteem, emotional overwhelm, and relationship difficulties.

Many of the people I work with appear to be coping on the outside, but internally feel anxious, self-critical, emotionally exhausted, or stuck in patterns that are difficult to shift.

My Story

I trained as a therapist to follow a long-standing passion for helping people – supporting them to understand themselves and feel better in their lives. My interest in how people think, feel, and respond led me to study neuroscience, which shaped my early career and continues to inform how I understand mental health and the ways our experiences shape the brain and nervous system. I later turned to therapy to connect with people more relationally and work alongside them in a meaningful, human way.

My Qualifications and Experience

I am a BACP-accredited psychotherapist trained to master’s level (Level 7) in integrative psychotherapy, and also hold a research master’s degree in neuroscience.

My clinical experience includes work in community counselling, the charity sector, and a specialist police treatment centre, supporting individuals experiencing trauma, PTSD, emotional distress, and the impact of demanding or high-pressure life circumstances.

What matters in my work

Clinical expertise with warmth

I value ongoing professional development, evidence-informed practice, and high standards of clinical training.
Alongside this, I believe therapy works best within a relationship characterised by warmth, compassion, and genuine care.

Depth, insight, and meaningful change

Alongside support with immediate difficulties, I also work with you to understand the patterns, experiences, and ways of coping that shape how you relate to yourself and others over time; supporting meaningful, lasting change.

Containment and emotional pacing

I work in a way that feels emotionally steady and manageable, offering a
grounded therapeutic relationship where difficult experiences can be explored at a pace that feels right for you.

Respect for your individual experience

I do not believe therapy should be one-size-fits-all.
Our work is shaped around your experiences, needs, and what feels important to you.
