Frequently Asked Questions

Therapy is a space where you can talk openly about what’s on your mind, at a pace that feels comfortable. Sessions often involve exploring your thoughts, emotions, and experiences, noticing patterns, and developing a deeper understanding of yourself. Some sessions may feel reflective, others more focused or exploratory – it really depends on what you need that day. My role is to offer a calm, attuned presence and to support you in making sense of what you’re experiencing.

There’s no fixed timeframe. Some people come for a short period to focus on a specific issue, while others choose longer‑term work to explore deeper patterns or ongoing experiences. We can discuss what feels right for you, and we’ll review things together as therapy progresses to make sure it continues to meet your needs.
-
Most people attend weekly sessions, as this helps build momentum and a sense of continuity. However, we can talk about what feels manageable and appropriate for you.
-
The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other. We’ll talk about what’s bringing you to therapy, what you’re hoping for, and any questions you might have. There’s no pressure, it’s simply a chance to see whether the space feels right for you.
-
No preparation is needed. You’re welcome to come exactly as you are. Some people find it helpful to think about what they’d like support with, but there’s no expectation to arrive with everything figured out.
-
Confidentiality is a central part of therapy. What you share stays between us, with a few legal and safeguarding exceptions that I’ll explain clearly at the start. My aim is to create a space where you feel safe to speak freely.
